Fried Rice

Tt day during our lunch at Chili's we've discussed on the food tt we need to prepare when we are in Scotland, tho nuttin has been confirmed yet, but Theng told me to learn how to cook fried rice. Coincidently, i've bought 2 packets of the Maggi 'no MSG added' fried rice mix, one Yong Chow and the other is Belacan. My mum n i decided to try out the Belacan one, with me being the chef of the day. Wahaha.... Here's the result!!

The taste was quite ok... but don't think it's a wise choice to bring the mix to Scotland. Will try to find better receipes for Fried Rice!!

Dear Jack, i've placed Daniel's MV on the main bar, together with the blog post, so it's no longer on the side bar. Because u like him so much, (as much as i do) i'm putting one of his songs (the full song) on my blog. Wahaha... I guess u'll be viewing my blog more often now, yea...

Chili's

We went out for lunch on Wednesday, at first wanted to go to the Chili's at Midvalley. Somehow we were stucked in the jam for 30 mins, hence we changed the venue to 1-Utama. Here are some snapshots takenduring the lunch, pictures courtesy of Eunice!

Nachos.... It's really nice n it's one of the best.... highly recommended by Eunice, hehe...

Mushroom Jack, recommended by Jack... (same name, no wonder she recommends it, hehehe...)

Some kinda pasta, can't remember the name cos it wasn't one of my fav...

The appetizer, really nice!!!! Must try!!! Also recommended by Jack...

Indulged in our drinks.....

Art + Food =

That's Jack's chicken wing, only the bone's left....

Overall, it was a great lunch n we had a great time too! I'll definitely go to Chili's again but i'll make sure not to order too much to prevent wastage...

Bye bye mouse...

Yesterday was the last day for my mouse to be with me till late nights while blogging. Sob sob. It all happened when i turned on my table fan and the gush of the wind managed to blew the mouse down onto the floor. The whole mouse was disassembled.
Today, my dad got me new tikus, a cute one!

Daniel...

Finally, i've bought Daniel's CD (album), or rather my mum has bought it... It only has 10 songs in it. Heard for a total of 5 times, i think it's quite ok, seeing the fact that they only used about 2 months to produce this album. His album consist of entirely pop songs which is my fav. Some of his songs are quite slow but still bearable to me.

The best part is, the album comes with romanized lyrics. Desperately needed for 'bananas' like me. =)

Husband & Wife...

Don't know how did we came to this topic about husband & wife in our conversation this afternoon at the rooftop. I think it's kinda interesting cos everyone has their on view about it. So, i've decided to blog about it. Can't really remember all the questions, but here are bits and pieces of it...

Q: If u ever caught your spouse having sex red-handed, what would u do?
Theng: Divorce, but before that might actually go after the husband and give him a whack or something. Wouldn't let him go off just like that...
Everyone: Might ask for divorce, but if there are kids in the family, then might have to consider other alternative. Wouldn't want the kids to have a broken familty tho.
Me: I'm definitely not the type that would yell, scream, or even whack others. Probably, i'll keep it to myself and ask for divorce... pretty stupid, huh? If it's others, i bet the least they would do is whack the bitch!

Q: If your ex invite u for an outing (dinner or etc), would u go?
Everyone: Go with our husband/wife... Introduce our spouse to him/her.

Q: Everyone should have their own friends even when married. What do u think?
Theng, Yin, Joe: Of course..
Me: Yea, but his friends must go thru my 'censorship board' first... hehe

Q: Have joint-account wif your husband and must have additional savings...
Theng, Yin: Of course. Husband's cash are theirs, and their cash are theirs too... haha
Me: Is it really needed? Of course u would have some kind of insurance, just in case if the marriage didn't work out. But is there really a need for that? That's what i thought just now during our conversation. But on second thought, i think if your spouse really loves u, he wouldn't mind sharing his everything with u, right?

Food.... Glorious food....

Had a food fair last Tues and here are some highlights....

4 of us making the croissants with an invader trying to get a bite of it....

the women behind the croissants and fruit tarts... (like very 'wai tai' )

Friday...

Our class ended early last Fri and it was our visiting lecturer's last class. So, after class, i went to Midvalley to meet up with my parents and had lunch over there. We've decided to try out the Dragon 1 restaurant since Jackline sort of highly recommended it. The ambience was pretty nice, simple decor giving u a comfortable feeling.

It's supposed to be famous for the Xiao Long Bao originating from Shanghai... u can even see the design on the wrapper of the towel, it has a pic of the bun as well.

So we ended up ordering 2 bowls of la mian which tasted ok with it's chili oil, my fav= sweet n sour chicken, a plate of vege and xiao long bao. The food tasted quite good overall, but the price was a bit steep. Worth trying as the taste is quite close to those in China, but somehow i still feel that the Shanghai's xiao long bao tasted much better.

Christmas is just a month away...

Actually less than one month. Christmas celebrations are not than grand over here in Malaysia compared to Singapore and Hong Kong. If one has a chance, he/she should go to HK and experience those beautiful Christmas lightings and the atmosphere over there. For those who are in a tight budget, u can alsways op for Singapore where u can still get a glimpse of those beautiful, multi-colored neon lights in the street and parades as well.

more pics to come....

sem 5 is here....

Sem 5 has begun a week ago, another tough one i guess! We've got 2 visiting lecturers, one for DD3 and the other for PP2. Having such a 'wonderful' experience in sem 4, i guess everyone would study harder for this sem cos everyone is looking forward to going to Scotland !

I guess our batch would be the most unforgettable group for most of the lecturers that have thought us, and of course our very own dean, PP. He told us that, our batch has produced the worst ever results that he has seen ever since he started working in IMU!! Our batch managed to have 24 failures (if i'm not mistaken) in PP1... Thank God i managed to pass...
On top of that, i think our batch gives him the most trouble as well. And because of that, he needs more beta blockers for his heart.... Talking about trouble, last week we had OKH teaching us DD3. Most our batch mates came late for his lecture (it was an early one). He was very pissed of... so he complained that matter to PP and PP came after us, giving us a very 'good' lecture. And yes, it was a VERY good one indeed.

Today, we had a car wash activity in order to raise some money to subsidise our convo mag! it was pretty OK for a start and hopefully all other activities would be a success. The convo mag committe has definitely worked very hard in producing the mag, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE INVOLVED!

I also managed to find out that some of our batch mates have to leave cos they did not make it in the resit paper for PP1. Yeah, i know, my news came really late. But i really feel sad for them, after 2 years of studying together, they actually have to leave. Hopefully they'll do better when they join the juniors in the new sem. One of my ex-college mate decided to quit the course as well! I felt really bad cos we were quite close back in college, whereby we would look for tuition teachers together and go for extra classes together. I didn't ask why she decided to leave, tho i really wanted to know. Hopefully she'll be able to pursue other degree that suits her better!

What a start for my sem 5...

BATTLING WITH BREAST CANCER

2 days ago, our PM's wife has been defeated in the battle of breast cancer after 4 years since she has been diagnosed with it. it's definitely something sad, seeing such a lovely lady leaving us so soon, due to the presence of those extra cells. breast cancer has been hitting women vigorously, despite the age and race. in conjunction with the breast cancer awareness month, here are some tips on how to carry out breast self-exam (BSE). BSE should be done every month, 7-10 days of the first day of your period or same day of every month for those who are not menstruating. the below link would bring u a step further in examining your breast:

~MIMPI~

danile lee, out very own 2nd malaysian idol has come out with his first single with his winning song MIMPI..... what do i think about it? i think it's great!

ok, i don't think a lot of people will agree with me, but hey, i personally feel that he deserves the win, maybe not from the aspect of singing when compared to the runner-up, nita! i remembered that one of the judges did mentioned something like " we shall see if he(referring to daniel) could turn the 1.2 million votes in sales...." well, hey! i can tell u that he is capable of doing that! why do i say so? well, look! the single has just been released today n i can actually download that song today itself!! what does this tell u?? ..... maybe this suggest that " hey, there are people who's buying his single n those 1.2 million votes actually relect the supports that we gave to him. it's not just mere votes to make him win, but it shows that we do like his singing, tho not as good as nita's!!

ok... i haven't get his singles yet, but i will, that's for sure!! i think it's no doubt that nita can sing (in a way) better than daniel. she has got the strength n the experience that one needs in order to deliver a good performance. she's got the strength n power in singing, comparable to jaclyn victor (last year's malaysian idol)... but i think she's still quite far away from being the next jac victor even with all those good qualities. why? in my opinion, i think nita only has the stength in singing and nothing more than that. yes, u need great stamina n strength to sing, but that's not all that it takes to be an IDOL! i feel that she can' t really present the songs very well in a way... on top of that, which is also the most important thing that matters me most: SHE CANNOT SPEAK IN ENGLISH!!! people, if u've watched the press conference after the finals when the media popped up questions in english, she doesn't seem to understand what they r asking for, and definitely, she can't answer them. do u actually want an idol who can only speak malay and nothing else just to reflect her nationality (malaysian!!!= orang tanah MELAYU). one of the judges even say that she has the international singer look! at one glance, i totally agree, but later on i realised she looked just like other night club entertainers... i don't mean club singers, but more like those PRs.... no offence people, but that's what i really think.

what we r looking for (or rather what i'm looking for) is an idol! a person which will make u go goo-gaa over him or her. i definitely want my idol to be an all rounder; ability to perform, speak, knwoledgeable n pleasant/descent/proper looking.

daniel may not have what it takes to be a good singer but he does have other qualities of being an idol. he definitely can sing, n that's why he can survive in the competition till the finals. whoever thinks that he cannot sing, please try joining the competition next year and tell me how easy or difficult it is to even get thru thr pre-liminary rounds. i think people should give daniel a chance (for those who have supported nita). he's still new in singing compared to nita. yes, he studies about music, but hey, he didn't study about singing, ok? he may be able to compose songs n etc, but he will still need to learn how to sing. so, give him a chance, and at the same time accept the fact that he is the 2nd malaysian idol!

NO RESULTS YET??

yup, the exam results were supposed to be released on mon, 17th oct, 10am. however, it has been postponed to wed, 19th oct, 2pm. unfortunately, it has been postponed again to next tues, 25th oct, 5pm. keep my fingers crossed! hopefully i'll be able to get those results next week.

according to the dean, our results for PP were the worst amogst so many batches that he has seen. i wonder how bad is that bad??

oh ya, if u guys have visited my blog b4, u'll realised that i've changed my layout again!! what do u think bout this new layout? give me some comment and drop me a line in my chatbox, please! i'm begging ppl to chat in my chatbox.... that's kinda sad. sob sob....

anyway, hopefully by next week all of us will b able to get our results n hopefully (gotta pray real hard) all of us could pass the exam!!

end of sem 4

it's the end of my sem 4...(after next week's exam that is).. been studying evryday, but unfortunatley, nuttin much has been stored in my brain.... i think my brain filter is not working very well tho... hence, i didn't manage to save anything in my brain...

after reading 2 pages of drug n disease, i try recapping n found out that, "Hey, i actually can't remember a thing!"...yea, that is so great!!

can't wait for the exam to be over... tho i'm so not prepared for it.....

the game that i hate the most....WAIT

waiting is definitely not a nice game to play... doesn't matter fr which aspect. today,i've got the chance to test my patience....

the class ended at 12.45pm, normally, i would be able to reach home (meaning: my whole self would be in the house) by 2pm... god knows what happened today! i got home at 4pm... xactly 2 hours later than usual. no, not becoz of the train delayed or what so ever.... but it's becos of the massive traffic jam along the whole area of sungai buloh...

my mom was supposed to pick me up as usual, however she was stucked in the jam n could barely move the vehicle... i STOOD (past tense of stand, which means i didn't sit) at the station for a solid ONE HOUR!!! on top of that, i was hungry... supposed to have my lunch at home, but ended up having tea break in the car when my mum came at around 3.30pm...

health & promo essay....

it just an hour to go before the clock strikes 12 to mark the day for handing in my essay assignment and i'm here sitting right in front of my laptop, still trying to finish it. am i great or wat??

i was busy doing the final touch on my essay, rearranging the referencess, half way thru it, i tot i've left out one of my reference... so i close the file and reopen it n redo it. however, i've forgotten that i did some changes to other part of my essay as well.... n i can't recall if i've saved the changes earlier on! isn't it great??? i look at the part where i've made changes, THERE WAS NUTTIN OVER THERE! i was so frustrated over my carelessness....

so, i started retyping wat i wrote earlier own, then i scrolled to the page before the current one and to my delight.... HEY, THOSE SENTENCES R STILL THERE!!! then only i realised that i actually checked on the wrong page .... hahaha~~
